Profile: Complete Urine Analysis (CUE). Tests: 17 parameters. Price: From 290. Fasting: Not required. Sample: Urine. Reports: 24 hours, digital. Home collection: Available across Delhi. Lab: NABL-accredited. A Complete Urine Analysis is often the first test a doctor orders for fever with burning urination, back pain, swelling or a general check, and in a Delhi household it is frequently ordered for an older relative. It examines urine by appearance, chemical dipstick and microscope. No fasting is needed, so it can be done any day, at any hour. It is also part of every full body package, starting with the Basic Full Body Checkup (77 parameters); a package costs less than booking several panels one at a time. ## What the 17 Parameters Look For The physical group is Colour and Appearance. The dipstick group holds Glucose, Protein, Bilirubin (Bile), Ketone Bodies, Specific gravity, Blood, Reaction (pH), Nitrites and Leukocytes. Microscopy covers PUS(WBC) Cells, Red Blood Cells, U.Epithelial Cells, Casts, Crystals and Others. Taken together the report points towards infection, kidney or bladder irritation, sugar spilling into urine, liver or bile duct problems and the state of hydration. ## Collecting for an Elderly Parent or a Child A midstream clean-catch sample is the standard. Wash hands, clean the genital area, pass the first few seconds of urine into the toilet, collect the middle of the stream in the sterile container up to the marked line, then finish in the toilet. Cap the container without touching the inside. In multi-generational homes this is where help is needed. An older person with limited mobility or a tremor may manage better seated, with someone steadying the container; a pot-style container held in position helps. For a young child, collection is easier with a paediatric collection bag applied after cleaning, though the sample is less clean than a true midstream catch. A phlebotomist visiting Dwarka, Pitampura, Mayur Vihar or Chattarpur can supply the container and take the sample from the home. ## Winter, Smog and Water Intake In the colder, smoggier months people drink less water, and urine becomes more concentrated, raising Specific gravity and darkening Colour. A sample can look abnormal without disease. Drink normally the day before. This profile does not measure anything related to air quality; its role is only to show what the urine contains. ## Reading the Results Honestly Glucose in urine does not diagnose diabetes. Diagnosis depends on blood glucose and HbA1c (American Diabetes Association, Standards of Care in Diabetes, 2024), and around 101 million Indian adults live with diabetes (ICMR-INDIAB, 2023). Nitrites with Leukocytes and PUS(WBC) Cells suggest a urinary tract infection but cannot name the organism; a urine culture does. A high count of U.Epithelial Cells usually indicates contamination. ## Symptoms That Make This Test Worth Booking Burning or frequent urination, urgency, lower abdominal discomfort, blood-stained or foul-smelling urine, flank pain, swelling of the feet or face and unexplained fever are the usual reasons. In older adults, urinary infection sometimes shows up only as confusion or sudden weakness rather than burning, so families should consider the test in that situation too. The report arrives digitally in 24 hours. ## What This Profile Cannot Do This is a dipstick and microscopy exam. It detects overt proteinuria but not microalbuminuria, the earliest sign of diabetic kidney damage; that needs a separate urine microalbumin or albumin-creatinine ratio test. For anyone with diabetes, a normal CUE therefore does not clear the kidneys. Kidney filtration is measured in blood by the Kidney Function Test (KFT). ## What Is Not Included No urine culture and sensitivity, no urine microalbumin or ACR, no 24-hour urine protein, no pregnancy test, no drug screen and no blood tests. The Kidney Function Test (KFT) and Liver Function Test (LFT) are separate profiles, found together with this one in every full body package. ## Sources American Diabetes Association, Standards of Care in Diabetes, 2024 · Anjana RM, Mohan V, et al.
