HBA1c (Glycosylated Hemoglobin)

An HbA1c test measures the amount of blood sugar (glucose) attached to hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is the part of red blood cells (RBCs) that carries oxygen from the lungs to the rest of the body. The HbA1c test shows the average amount of glucose in the blood over the past two to three months and is used to diagnose and monitor diabetes mellitus.
