The Basic Full Body Checkup is the entry tier of the HealthVas full body line and covers 77 parameters across 7 components in a single morning: CBC with ESR, Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination read by a qualified pathologist, Liver Function Test, Kidney Function Test with GFR, a 9-marker Lipid Profile including Non-HDL cholesterol and three cardiac ratios, Complete Urine Analysis and Blood Glucose Fasting. It is built to catch what develops silently in a sedentary urban adult — anaemia, fatty liver, early kidney stress, dyslipidaemia, prediabetes and urinary infection — before any of it produces a symptom. Every HealthVas package above this one contains all 77 of these parameters, so this is a baseline you can build on rather than repeat. One blood draw and one urine sample, processed at a NABL-accredited laboratory, digital reports in 24 hours. Starting from 549. Free home sample collection across Gurgaon — Sector 14, Sector 29, Sector 56, Golf Course Road, Sohna Road, DLF Phase 1–5, Udyog Vihar, Palam Vihar and Manesar.

What Does This Package Screen For?

At a Glance

Package: Basic Full Body Checkup. Tests: 77 parameters, 7 components. Price: From 549. Fasting: 10 hours. Sample: Blood and urine, single draw. Reports: 24 hours, digital. Home collection: Free across Gurgaon. Lab: NABL-accredited. This is the entry tier of the HealthVas full body line, and every package above it contains all 77 of these parameters in full, so nothing is lost by starting here. If you want one specific concern added, the Full Body Checkup with Thyroid adds a Thyroid Profile (TT3, TT4, TSH) at 80 parameters, the Full Body Checkup with Vitamin D & B12 adds the two deficiency markers at 79, and the Full Body Checkup with HbA1c & Thyroid adds a three-month glucose average alongside thyroid at 82. Those three are parallel single-concern options rather than steps above one another. If you want thyroid, Iron Studies, HbA1c and both vitamins together, the Advanced Full Body Checkup with Vitamin D & B12 covers all of them at 89 parameters, and the Comprehensive Full Body Checkup with CRP & RA Factor adds quantitative CRP and RA Factor on top at 91. ## Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination This is the component that separates this package from most entry-level checkups in Gurgaon. It cannot be automated. A qualified pathologist prepares a slide from your sample and reads it under a microscope, cell by cell — pathologist time rather than machine time, which is exactly why it is the line item dropped to hold a price point. The profile reports five findings: Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Platelets, Hemoparasites, and a written Impression from the pathologist. An automated analyser counts cells and flags numbers outside a reference range. A pathologist sees size, shape and internal structure. The CBC tells you haemoglobin is low; the smear begins to tell you why. Microcytic red cells point towards iron deficiency, macrocytic cells towards B12 or folate deficiency, sickle-shaped cells towards sickle cell disease. The smear also picks up blast cells that may indicate leukaemia, and platelet clumping that an automated counter reports as a dangerously low platelet count. In Delhi NCR, where dengue and malaria are both endemic, the Hemoparasites finding is the one that can change what happens the same week. ## What 77 Parameters Will Not Tell You Being clear about the limits is more useful than listing more test names. This package does not measure thyroid hormones, so fatigue, weight change or hair loss driven by hypothyroidism will not be explained here — one in ten Indian adults is hypothyroid, women roughly three times more often than men (Unnikrishnan et al., IJEM, 2013;17(4):647-652). It does not include HbA1c, so you get a single fasting glucose reading from one morning rather than a three-month average. It does not include Iron Studies, so the CBC and smear can suggest iron deficiency but cannot confirm the cause, and thalassemia trait specifically needs haemoglobin electrophoresis or HPLC as a separate test. The Complete Urine Analysis is routine dipstick and microscopy: it detects overt protein in urine but not microalbuminuria, so early diabetic kidney damage needs a separate urine microalbumin or albumin-creatinine ratio test. Vitamin D and Vitamin B12 are not measured. ## The Other 6 Components CBC with ESR (21): Haemoglobin, red cell indices, platelet count, the full white cell differential and ESR — anaemia, infection, inflammation and blood disorders. Over 50% of Indian women aged 15-49 are anaemic (NFHS-5, 2019-21). Liver Function Test (12): Bilirubin fractions, ALP, SGOT, SGPT, GGT, total protein, albumin, globulin and both ratios. The SGOT/SGPT ratio helps separate fatty liver from alcohol-related injury and GGT rises earliest with alcohol; NAFLD affects 30-40% of urban Indian adults (Duseja et al., Indian Journal of Gastroenterology, 2022). Kidney Function Test (12): Urea, creatinine, BUN, sodium, potassium, chloride, calcium, phosphorus, uric acid and GFR by MDRD — GFR is what stages chronic kidney disease, and uric acid screens for gout. Lipid Profile (9): Includes Non-HDL cholesterol, a better predictor of cardiovascular risk than LDL alone (AHA/ACC, 2018), plus three cardiac ratios. Complete Urine Analysis (17): Protein, glucose, ketones, blood, nitrites, leukocytes, pus cells, casts and crystals — urinary infection, overt proteinuria and stone-forming crystals. Blood Glucose Fasting (1): Below 100 mg/dL normal, 100-125 prediabetes, 126 or above diabetes (ADA Standards of Care, 2024). India has 101 million adults living with diabetes (ICMR-INDIAB, Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, 2023;11(7):474-489). ## Sources NFHS-5, 2019-21 · Unnikrishnan et al., IJEM, 2013;17(4):647-652 · Anjana et al., ICMR-INDIAB, Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, 2023;11(7):474-489 · ADA Standards of Care in Diabetes, 2024 · AHA/ACC Cholesterol Guideline, 2018 · Duseja et al., Indian Journal of Gastroenterology, 2022 Content last reviewed: October 2026

Who Should Get This Checkup?

  • Anyone taking a first adult health baseline – If you have never had structured blood work done, this is where to start. Fatty liver, prediabetes, mild anaemia and early kidney stress are silent for years and produce no symptom until they are established. One 77-parameter baseline in your twenties or thirties, repeated annually, is what makes a later abnormal result interpretable — a single reading tells you where you stand today, a trend tells you which direction you are moving in.
  • Corporate professionals in Gurgaon's office corridors – Ten-hour days in DLF Cyber City, Udyog Vihar, Golf Course Road or Sohna Road, canteen food, almost no sunlight and very little movement push three things in the same direction: triglycerides, fasting glucose and liver fat. The Lipid Profile with Non-HDL cholesterol, Blood Glucose Fasting and the Liver Function Test in this package are the exact first-line screens for that pattern, and all three come off one morning draw.
  • People with persistent tiredness, pallor or easy bruising – Tiredness that sleep does not fix, pale nail beds, breathlessness on stairs or bruising from minor knocks are the classic reasons to look at blood. The 21-parameter CBC with ESR plus the Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination separates iron-deficiency anaemia from B12 or folate deficiency by cell size, and flags blood disorders a count alone cannot. Over 50% of Indian women aged 15-49 are anaemic (NFHS-5, 2019-21).
  • Anyone with a family history of diabetes, heart or kidney disease – A parent or sibling with type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol or chronic kidney disease raises your own risk substantially. India has 101 million adults living with diabetes (Anjana et al., ICMR-INDIAB, Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, 2023;11(7):474-489). Blood Glucose Fasting, the 9-marker Lipid Profile and the Kidney Function Test with GFR by MDRD are what a physician would order first to check whether you are on the same trajectory.
  • Regular drinkers and long-term medication users – GGT in the Liver Function Test is the earliest enzyme to rise with alcohol, before SGOT or SGPT move, and the SGOT/SGPT ratio helps separate alcohol-related injury from fatty liver. NAFLD already affects 30-40% of urban Indian adults (Duseja et al., Indian Journal of Gastroenterology, 2022). Long-term painkillers, antibiotics or supplements can also load the liver and kidneys quietly, which is why LFT and KFT are read together.
  • Adults over 35 taking one checkup a year – From the mid-thirties, cardiovascular risk and glucose intolerance both climb, and the window where lifestyle change alone still reverses them is early. This package gives the core annual screen. If you also want thyroid tested, the Full Body Checkup with Thyroid covers it; if you want a three-month blood sugar average, the Full Body Checkup with HbA1c & Thyroid adds HbA1c; for vitamin status, the Full Body Checkup with Vitamin D & B12.

How to Prepare

Fasting: 10 hours overnight, needed for the Lipid Profile and Blood Glucose Fasting. Plain water is allowed and helps — being hydrated makes the draw easier and improves the urine sample. No tea, coffee, juice or milk. Samples: One venous blood draw and a midstream urine sample, collected in the same visit. First-morning urine gives the most informative Complete Urine Analysis. All 7 components run off that single collection. Medications: Continue prescription medicines unless your doctor says otherwise — do not skip blood pressure, thyroid or diabetes medication for a test. Take them with a sip of water. Alcohol: Avoid for 48 hours. Alcohol raises GGT, liver enzymes and triglycerides directly, and a weekend of drinking can make a normal liver look abnormal. Exercise: No strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Intense activity temporarily raises creatinine and uric acid, which affects the Kidney Function Test. Timing: 7–9 AM is ideal, both for the fast and for a first-morning urine sample. Menstruation: If you are menstruating, mention it — red blood cells in the urine sample can be from contamination rather than the urinary tract, and it is better to reschedule the urine collection than to chase a false finding. Home collection: Free across Gurgaon — Sector 14, 29, 38, 42, 44, 46, 49, 54, 55, 56, 57, Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension, Sohna Road, DLF Phase 1–5, Udyog Vihar, Manesar, Palam Vihar, South City and Nirvana Country. Reports: Digital within 24 hours, all 77 parameters with reference ranges and flagged abnormal values.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Basic Full Body Checkup in Gurgaon

What is included in the Basic Full Body Checkup?

77 parameters across 7 components: Complete Blood Count (CBC) with ESR (21), Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination (5), Liver Function Test (12), Kidney Function Test (12), Lipid Profile (9), Complete Urine Analysis (17) and Blood Glucose Fasting (1). It needs one venous blood sample and one urine sample, collected together, with a 10-hour overnight fast. Reports are digital within 24 hours.

What is the price of the Basic Full Body Checkup in Gurgaon?

It starts from 549 in Gurgaon. That includes free home sample collection and digital reports, with nothing added at checkout. Book online or on WhatsApp.

How is this different from the Full Body Checkup with Thyroid?

The Full Body Checkup with Thyroid contains all 77 parameters in this package plus a Thyroid Profile — Tri-Iodothyronine Total (TT3), Thyroxine - Total (TT4) and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) — for a total of 80 parameters. Nothing is removed. Choose that version if you have fatigue, unexplained weight change, hair fall, cold intolerance or irregular periods, since none of those is explained by the tests in the Basic package.

Does this package include thyroid, HbA1c, Vitamin D or B12?

No. The Basic Full Body Checkup has none of those four. The Full Body Checkup with Thyroid adds the Thyroid Profile at 80 parameters. The Full Body Checkup with Vitamin D & B12 adds Vitamin D (25-Hydroxy) and Vitamin B12 at 79. The Full Body Checkup with HbA1c & Thyroid adds HbA1c with average blood glucose plus thyroid at 82. The Advanced Full Body Checkup with Vitamin D & B12 includes all of them along with Iron Studies at 89 parameters.

What is the Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination?

It is a manual microscopic examination of your blood by a qualified pathologist, who prepares a slide and reads it cell by cell. The profile reports five findings: Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Platelets, Hemoparasites and a written Impression. An automated analyser counts cells; the pathologist sees size, shape and internal structure. A CBC can tell you haemoglobin is low, while the smear begins to explain why — microcytic cells suggest iron deficiency, macrocytic cells suggest B12 or folate deficiency, sickle-shaped cells indicate sickle cell disease.

Why do most basic health checkup packages leave the Peripheral Smear out?

Cost. The smear is the one test in this package a machine cannot perform. A qualified pathologist has to prepare and read each slide individually, so it is pathologist time rather than analyser time, and it is usually the first line item removed to hold a low price point. It also catches things no counter can: blast cells that may indicate leukaemia, platelet clumping that automated counters report as a dangerously low platelet count, and hemoparasites, which matters in Delhi NCR where dengue and malaria are endemic.

What does the GFR in the Kidney Function Test tell me?

GFR by MDRD estimates how much filtering capacity your kidneys still have, calculated from creatinine and adjusted for age and sex. It is the number used to stage chronic kidney disease, which is often silent until roughly half of function is gone. Creatinine alone can sit inside the reference range while GFR has already fallen, which is why both are reported here along with urea, BUN and the BUN/creatinine ratio.

Does this package screen for early kidney damage in diabetes?

Not fully. The Complete Urine Analysis is a routine dipstick and microscopy examination that detects overt protein in urine, but it does not detect microalbuminuria — the small amounts of albumin that appear in the earliest stage of diabetic kidney damage. That needs a separate urine microalbumin or albumin-creatinine ratio test, which is not part of this package. If you have diabetes, ask your doctor for an albumin-creatinine ratio in addition to this checkup.

Can a single fasting glucose test diagnose diabetes?

It can place you in a band but it should not stand alone. The American Diabetes Association Standards of Care in Diabetes, 2024 reads fasting glucose below 100 mg/dL as normal, 100-125 mg/dL as prediabetes and 126 mg/dL or above as diabetes. A result at or above 126 normally needs confirmation on a second occasion, and HbA1c gives a three-month average that a single morning reading cannot. HbA1c is not in this package; it is in the Full Body Checkup with HbA1c & Thyroid.

Will a normal CBC rule out anaemia or a blood disorder?

No. A normal haemoglobin does not exclude iron deficiency in its early stage, and this package does not include Iron Studies or ferritin, so the cause of a low haemoglobin can be suggested by the smear but not confirmed. Thalassemia trait in particular needs haemoglobin electrophoresis or HPLC, which is a separate test. A raised ESR indicates inflammation somewhere but does not locate it.

What does the Liver Function Test detect?

It reports 12 parameters: Bilirubin Total, Direct and Indirect, Alkaline Phosphatase (ALP), SGOT, SGPT, Gamma Glutamyl Transferase (GGT), Total Protein, Albumin, Globulin, the A/G ratio and the SGOT/SGPT ratio. Together they screen for fatty liver disease, alcohol-related liver injury, drug-induced liver damage, bile duct obstruction and the liver causes of jaundice. Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease affects 30-40% of urban Indian adults (Duseja et al., Indian Journal of Gastroenterology, 2022). GGT is the earliest enzyme to rise with alcohol.

How long do I need to fast before this checkup?

10 hours overnight. Plain water is allowed and encouraged. No tea, coffee, juice or milk during the fasting window. The fast is required for the Lipid Profile — particularly triglycerides — and for Blood Glucose Fasting. Continue prescription medication as usual unless your doctor advises otherwise, and avoid alcohol for 48 hours beforehand because it raises GGT and triglycerides directly.

Is home sample collection available in Gurgaon?

Yes, free across Gurgaon including Sector 14, 29, 38, 42, 44, 46, 49, 54, 55, 56, 57, Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension, Sohna Road, DLF Phase 1 to 5, Udyog Vihar, Manesar, Palam Vihar, South City and Nirvana Country. A trained phlebotomist collects both the blood and the urine sample at your door, in a slot you choose, and the sample travels to the laboratory in temperature-controlled conditions.

How long does it take to get reports?

Digital reports arrive within 24 hours of sample collection. All 77 parameters come with reference ranges and flagged abnormal values. If you have previous results on HealthVas, your report includes trend tracking so you can see how each value has moved since your last checkup.

Is the lab NABL-accredited?

Yes. Your sample is processed at a NABL-accredited laboratory in our network. NABL accreditation is granted to individual laboratories after evaluation of their equipment, processes and personnel. It is not a company-wide certification, and HealthVas does not claim to hold accreditation itself.

Can I book this checkup for a parent or spouse?

Yes. Add their details during booking and the report is issued in their name. Home collection is particularly useful for elderly parents, who often find travelling to a laboratory and waiting for a fasting draw difficult. The phlebotomist visits at your chosen slot and reports are delivered digitally.

Do I need a prescription to book this package?

No prescription is needed to book. Results should be read by a physician, though — lab values are one part of a clinical picture, not a diagnosis. If any parameter is flagged, take the full report to a doctor rather than acting on a single number.

Why Book on HealthVas?

The price you see is the price you pay. Home sample collection and digital reports are included, with nothing added at checkout. Every sample is processed at a NABL-accredited laboratory in our network, and reports are issued on HealthVas letterhead. NABL accreditation (National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories) is granted to individual laboratories after evaluation of their equipment, processes and personnel — it is not a company-wide certification, and HealthVas does not claim to hold it. One thing in this package is unusual at an entry-level parameter count: the Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination is read by a qualified pathologist under a microscope rather than counted by an automated analyser. That is how parasites, abnormal cell shapes and platelet clumping get caught, and it is the first component most budget checkups remove. Free home sample collection across Gurgaon. Digital reports within 24 hours. Book online or on WhatsApp.
