Package: Advance Diabetes Package. Tests: 85 parameters, 12 components. Price: From 1499. Fasting: 10 hours, then a post-meal draw. Sample: Blood and urine, two draws, one visit. Reports: 24 hours, digital. Home collection: Free across Delhi. Lab: NABL-accredited. Its nearest sibling, the Full Body Checkup with HbA1c, carries 82 of these 85 parameters and costs less. What it does not carry is Insulin-Fasting, Insulin PP and Glucose - Post Prandial Blood Sugar. Choose that one for a general annual screen, and this one when the question is specifically about blood sugar. ## Insulin Measured Alongside Glucose Most diabetes packages report HbA1c, fasting glucose and post-meal glucose. This one adds Insulin-Fasting and Insulin PP, so the report also shows how much insulin the body is producing to hold that sugar down. Two people can share a fasting glucose while one makes twice the insulin to achieve it, and only one is heading for type 2 diabetes. Glucose alone cannot separate them. The readings come in two matched pairs — Blood Glucose Fasting with Insulin-Fasting, Glucose - Post Prandial Blood Sugar with Insulin PP — while HbA1c and Average blood glucose give the two-to-three-month average. Thresholds follow the American Diabetes Association Standards of Care in Diabetes, 2024: fasting glucose under 100 mg/dL normal, 100-125 prediabetes, 126+ diabetes; HbA1c under 5.7%, 5.7-6.4% and 6.5%+ on the same three bands. Be exact. The report gives the insulin values as numbers. It does not compute or report HOMA-IR, an insulin resistance index, or an insulin-to-glucose ratio. A doctor reads the insulin values against the glucose values; the report does not diagnose insulin resistance by itself. Insulin is worth measuring here because insulin resistance and higher body fat tend to appear at a lower BMI in Indian than European populations. HbA1c is distorted by anaemia and haemoglobin variants, so read it with the CBC here. ## The Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination The Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination is the one component a machine cannot produce. A qualified pathologist spreads a slide, stains it and reads it under a microscope, reporting Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Platelets, Hemoparasites and a written IMPRESSION in sentences. What it adds over the automated count is morphology. Microcytic cells suggest iron deficiency; macrocytic cells B12 or folate deficiency; sickle-shaped cells sickle cell disease; blast cells may point to leukaemia; clumped platelets explain a count an analyser flags as critically low. The red cell picture can change in long-standing diabetes, so the smear is read with the CBC rather than instead of it, and Hemoparasites stays useful where dengue and malaria are endemic across Delhi NCR. Hand-reading is pathologist time, and that is its cost. ## Two Draws in One Visit, and Screening Two Generations Holding both fasting and post-prandial analytes, this package needs two draws in one visit: a 10-hour fasting draw, then a meal, then a second roughly two hours later. Where a parent and an adult child share a household, one visit can cover both — family history is the commonest reason an adult child is screened early, and the phlebotomist is already there for the second draw. Home collection reaches Lajpat Nagar, Dwarka, Rohini, Mayur Vihar and the colonies of South Delhi. ## What Is Not Included No urine microalbumin and no albumin-creatinine ratio (ACR). The Complete Urine Analysis here is a dipstick and microscopy examination: its Protein field detects overt proteinuria but not microalbuminuria, which is the entire point of an ACR. The American Diabetes Association, Standards of Care in Diabetes, 2024 recommends an annual urine ACR for anyone already diagnosed with diabetes, because it detects diabetic kidney disease years before serum creatinine or GFR move. Kidney coverage — Creatinine, Urea, Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN), GFR by MDRD Formula — is useful but slower. If you are already diagnosed, ask your doctor about adding a urine ACR to your annual review, because this package does not cover it. Also absent: OGTT/GTT, C-Peptide, Fructosamine, Free T3/Free T4 (only total TT3/TT4 here), anti-GAD autoantibodies, HOMA-IR as a computed index, Vitamin D, Vitamin B12, Iron Studies, retinal or foot exam, imaging. ## The Other 6 Components CBC with ESR (21): Anaemia, infection, inflammation; over 50% of Indian women 15-49 are anaemic (NFHS-5, 2019-21). Kidney Function Test (12): Creatinine, urea, BUN, uric acid, electrolytes, calcium, phosphorus, GFR. Liver Function Test (12): Bilirubin, ALP, SGOT, SGPT, GGT, protein, albumin, ratios — NAFLD affects 30-40% of urban Indian adults (Duseja et al., 2022). Lipid Profile (9): Non-HDL cholesterol beats LDL alone (AHA/ACC, 2018), plus three ratios. Complete Urine Analysis (17): Glycosuria, proteinuria, infection, crystals. Thyroid Profile (3): TT3, TT4, TSH; one in ten Indian adults is hypothyroid (Unnikrishnan et al., 2013). ## Sources ADA Standards of Care, 2024 · Anjana et al., ICMR-INDIAB, Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, 2023;11(7):474-489 · NFHS-5, 2019-21 · AHA/ACC, 2018 · Duseja et al., Indian J Gastroenterology, 2022 · Unnikrishnan et al., IJEM, 2013;17(4):647-652 Content last reviewed: October 2026
Who Should Get This Package?
- Adults whose parent or sibling already has type 2 diabetes – Family history is the single commonest reason to screen before symptoms, and in a household where two generations live together the parent's diagnosis is usually what prompts it. India has 101 million adults living with diabetes and a far larger prediabetic population (Anjana RM, Mohan V et al., ICMR-INDIAB, Lancet Diabetes & Endocrinology, 2023;11(7):474-489). This package gives the full glucose picture plus both insulin readings, which is what distinguishes early compensation from a normal result.
- Older adults in established colonies who have never had insulin measured – Fasting sugar and HbA1c get checked at every annual review; insulin almost never does. In someone who has carried a borderline reading for years, the insulin values tell a doctor whether the pancreas is still compensating comfortably or working hard. The Kidney Function Test with GFR by MDRD Formula and the Lipid Profile with Non-HDL cholesterol (AHA/ACC, 2018) are in the same draw, which is what makes a single visit worth the trip.
- Desk-based government, public sector and office workers across a wide age range – Long commutes and seated work days reduce insulin sensitivity over years rather than weeks, and the after-meal rise is the first measurement to drift. Glucose - Post Prandial Blood Sugar with Insulin PP is the pair that shows it; a fasting-only test can read normal throughout. This package also reports the full Liver Function Test, because non-alcoholic fatty liver disease affects 30-40% of urban Indian adults (Duseja et al., Indian Journal of Gastroenterology, 2022).
- Anyone whose outdoor activity has dropped off for a few months – Physical activity is one of the strongest influences on how much insulin the body needs, so a long stretch with much less walking or outdoor exercise — during the winter months, after an injury, or after a change of job — is a reasonable point at which to measure. Nothing in this package detects air quality or its effects; what it measures is glucose, insulin and lipids, which respond to how much you move.
- People told at a camp or a previous test that their sugar was borderline – A fasting glucose of 100-125 mg/dL or an HbA1c of 5.7-6.4% is prediabetes under the American Diabetes Association Standards of Care in Diabetes, 2024. It is the result most often mentioned once and never followed up. Repeating it with the post-meal glucose and both insulin values attached turns a single figure into something a doctor can plan around, at the stage where diet and weight change still work.
- Women with PCOS or a history of gestational diabetes – Both carry a raised long-term risk of type 2 diabetes and need periodic screening rather than symptom-watching. Fasting and post-meal glucose with Insulin-Fasting and Insulin PP is a fuller follow-up than HbA1c alone, and the Thyroid Profile is included because thyroid dysfunction is more common in this group. HbA1c is distorted by anaemia, common in Indian women (NFHS-5, 2019-21), so it is read alongside the CBC with ESR here.

What Is Included — and What Is Not
Included: 85 parameters across 12 components Glucose and insulin — 5 components, 6 parameters: HBA1c (Glycosylated Hemoglobin) reporting HbA1c and Average blood glucose (2), Blood Glucose Fasting (1), Glucose - Post Prandial Blood Sugar (1), Insulin-Fasting (1), Insulin PP (1). Organ and blood profiles — 7 components, 79 parameters: Complete Blood Count (CBC) + ESR (21), Complete Urine Analysis (CUE) (17), Kidney Function Test (KFT) (12), Liver Function Test (LFT) (12), Lipid Profile (9), Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination (5), Thyroid Profile (3). 5 + 7 = 12 components. 6 + 79 = 85 parameters. Sample: Blood and urine. Draws: two, in one visit, roughly two hours apart. Fasting: 10 hours before the first draw. Reports: 24 hours, digital. Gender: all. Home collection: free across Delhi. ## Not included — read this if you already have diabetes No urine microalbumin and no albumin-creatinine ratio (ACR). The Complete Urine Analysis in this package is a dipstick and microscopy examination. Its Protein field detects overt proteinuria but not microalbuminuria, which is exactly what an ACR is for. The American Diabetes Association, Standards of Care in Diabetes, 2024 recommends an annual urine ACR for everyone already diagnosed with diabetes, because it detects diabetic kidney disease years before serum creatinine or GFR move. Kidney coverage here is Creatinine, Urea, Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) and GFR by MDRD Formula — real and useful, but later-moving. Ask your doctor about adding a urine ACR to your annual review. No HOMA-IR as a computed index. Insulin-Fasting and Insulin PP are reported as numbers with reference ranges. The report does not calculate HOMA-IR, an insulin resistance index or an insulin-to-glucose ratio; a doctor reads the insulin values against the glucose values from the same draws. Also not included: Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT/GTT), C-Peptide, Fructosamine, anti-GAD and other diabetes autoantibodies, Free T3 and Free T4 (only Tri-Iodothyronine Total (TT3) and Thyroxine - Total (TT4) are here), Anti-TPO, Vitamin D (25-Hydroxy), Vitamin B12, Iron Studies or ferritin, haemoglobin electrophoresis or HPLC for thalassemia trait, hs-CRP, cancer markers, cardiac markers such as Troponin or NT-proBNP, retinal screening, foot examination, and imaging of any kind including ECG, X-ray and ultrasound. ## Where to go from here For a general annual screen with no particular suspicion about blood sugar, the Full Body Checkup with HbA1c holds 82 of these 85 parameters — all but Insulin-Fasting, Insulin PP and Glucose - Post Prandial Blood Sugar — needs a single draw, and costs less. The Advance Diabetes Package is the right choice when blood sugar is the question being asked.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about Advance diabetes package in Delhi
What is included in the Advance Diabetes Package?
85 parameters across 12 components: Complete Blood Count (CBC) + ESR (21), Complete Urine Analysis (CUE) (17), Kidney Function Test (KFT) (12), Liver Function Test (LFT) (12), Lipid Profile (9), Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination (5), Thyroid Profile with Tri-Iodothyronine Total (TT3), Thyroxine - Total (TT4) and Thyroid Stimulating Hormone (TSH) (3), HBA1c (Glycosylated Hemoglobin) reporting HbA1c and Average blood glucose (2), Blood Glucose Fasting (1), Glucose - Post Prandial Blood Sugar (1), Insulin-Fasting (1) and Insulin PP (1). Blood and urine samples, two draws in one visit, 10-hour fast before the first, digital reports in 24 hours.
What does the Advance Diabetes Package cost in Delhi?
From 1499. Free home sample collection for both draws and digital reports are included, with nothing added at checkout. Book online or on WhatsApp.
Can I book this for my parent and myself in the same home visit?
Yes. Add each person's details at booking and each report is issued in their own name. Booking both into the same window is worth doing here because the visit involves two draws about two hours apart: the phlebotomist is already returning for the second sample, so one visit covers the household. Where a parent has type 2 diabetes and an adult child is being screened because of it, this is the usual way to arrange it.
Why does this package need two blood draws?
Because it contains both fasting and post-prandial analytes. Blood Glucose Fasting, Insulin-Fasting and the Lipid Profile are drawn after a 10-hour overnight fast. Glucose - Post Prandial Blood Sugar (PPBS) and Insulin PP are drawn about two hours after a normal meal, because their purpose is to show what happens after eating. One draw cannot produce both. Expect roughly two hours between them, within the same visit.
What do Insulin-Fasting and Insulin PP show that glucose tests do not?
How hard the body is working to keep blood sugar in range. Glucose is the outcome; insulin is the effort. Two people with the same fasting glucose can be producing very different amounts of insulin to reach it, and only one of them is on the way to type 2 diabetes. This package reports a fasting pair, Blood Glucose Fasting with Insulin-Fasting, and an after-meal pair, Glucose - Post Prandial Blood Sugar with Insulin PP.
Does the report include HOMA-IR or an insulin resistance index?
No. Insulin-Fasting and Insulin PP come back as numbers with reference ranges. The report does not compute HOMA-IR, an insulin resistance index or an insulin-to-glucose ratio, and it does not diagnose insulin resistance by itself. A doctor reads the insulin values against the glucose values from the same draws. HOMA-IR is a calculation applied to those values rather than a separate test, so ask your doctor if you want it worked out.
Does this package check for diabetic kidney damage?
Not at the earliest stage. It has no urine microalbumin and no albumin-creatinine ratio (ACR). The Complete Urine Analysis here is a dipstick and microscopy examination: its Protein field detects overt proteinuria but not microalbuminuria, which is the entire point of an ACR. The American Diabetes Association, Standards of Care in Diabetes, 2024 recommends an annual urine ACR for everyone already diagnosed with diabetes, because it detects diabetic kidney disease years before serum creatinine or GFR move. If you are already diagnosed, ask your doctor about adding a urine ACR to your annual review. The package does report Creatinine, Urea, Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) and GFR by MDRD Formula.
My family exercises outdoors much less during the winter months. Does that matter for these results?
It can. Physical activity is one of the strongest influences on how much insulin the body needs, so several months of much less walking or outdoor exercise is a reasonable point at which to measure glucose, insulin and lipids. What this package does not do is detect air quality or any effect of it — no test here measures that, and none is claimed to. It measures blood sugar, the insulin behind it, cholesterol, liver, kidney and thyroid function.
How is this different from the Full Body Checkup with HbA1c?
This package contains 82 of that package's parameters and adds Insulin-Fasting, Insulin PP and Glucose - Post Prandial Blood Sugar, giving 85. Nothing is removed. The Full Body Checkup with HbA1c is the lighter annual-screening choice, takes a single draw and costs less, but it reads blood sugar from HbA1c and one fasting value with no after-meal reading and no insulin. Take the Advance Diabetes Package when blood sugar is the actual concern.
What does HbA1c measure, and what is a normal result?
HbA1c, or glycosylated haemoglobin, is the proportion of haemoglobin carrying bound glucose. The binding is irreversible and a red cell lives around three months, so the figure reflects average blood sugar across roughly the previous 8 to 12 weeks. This package reports the percentage and a derived Average blood glucose value. The American Diabetes Association Standards of Care in Diabetes, 2024 reads below 5.7% as normal, 5.7 to 6.4% as prediabetes and 6.5% or above as diabetes.
Can anaemia change my HbA1c result?
Yes, and it is the limitation most often overlooked. HbA1c depends on red cell lifespan, so anaemia, recent blood loss, a transfusion, iron deficiency and haemoglobin variants such as thalassemia trait can all move the figure up or down independently of blood sugar. Over 50% of Indian women aged 15 to 49 are anaemic (NFHS-5, 2019-21). That is why the result is read alongside the Complete Blood Count with ESR and the Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination in this same package.
How long is the fast, and what can I drink during it?
10 hours overnight before the first draw. Plain water only, and drinking it helps — a well-hydrated vein is easier to draw. No tea, coffee, milk, juice or sugar in the fasting window. The fast is needed for Blood Glucose Fasting, Insulin-Fasting and the Lipid Profile. After that draw you eat a normal meal, and the second draw follows about two hours later for Glucose - Post Prandial Blood Sugar and Insulin PP.
Should my parent take their diabetes tablets before the fasting draw?
That is a question for the doctor who prescribed them, and the tablets should not be stopped without being told to. It matters here more than in most packages: insulin or a sulfonylurea taken before the fasting draw changes both the glucose and the insulin reading, so the report partly reflects the medicine. Tell the doctor the test includes fasting and post-meal glucose with fasting and post-meal insulin, and follow their instruction on the morning dose.
What is the Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination?
A qualified pathologist spreads a slide of your blood, stains it, reads it under a microscope and reports Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Platelets, Hemoparasites and a written IMPRESSION. It is the only part of the report written in sentences by a person rather than produced as a number. What it adds over an automated count is morphology: microcytic cells suggesting iron deficiency, macrocytic cells B12 or folate deficiency, sickle-shaped cells sickle cell disease, blast cells that may point to leukaemia, and clumped platelets that explain a count flagged as critically low.
Why is the Peripheral Smear worth paying for on a diabetes package?
Two reasons. The red cell picture can change in long-standing diabetes, so the smear is read alongside the CBC rather than instead of it, and because anaemia distorts HbA1c, a pathologist indicating the type of anaemia is what makes the HbA1c safe to read. Its Hemoparasites finding also matters where dengue and malaria are endemic across Delhi NCR. It cannot be automated — each slide is prepared and read by hand — so it is the line item cheaper packages drop.
Is home sample collection free across Delhi?
Yes. Slots cover Saket, Greater Kailash, Hauz Khas, Vasant Kunj, Lajpat Nagar, Defence Colony, Malviya Nagar, Dwarka, Janakpuri, Rohini, Pitampura, Mayur Vihar, Preet Vihar, Kalkaji and New Friends Colony among others. A trained phlebotomist takes the fasting blood and urine samples at your door and returns about two hours after the meal for the second draw, in the same visit window. Samples travel to the laboratory in temperature-controlled conditions.
How long do reports take, and is the lab NABL-accredited?
Digital reports arrive within 24 hours of the final sample, with all 85 parameters, reference ranges and flagged abnormal values. Your sample is processed at a NABL-accredited laboratory in our network. NABL accreditation is granted to individual laboratories after evaluation of their equipment, processes and personnel; it is not a company-wide certification, and HealthVas does not claim to hold it.
Why Book This on HealthVas
The price shown is the price charged. Home sample collection for both draws and digital reports are included, and nothing is added at checkout. Samples are processed at a NABL-accredited laboratory in our network, and reports are issued on HealthVas letterhead. NABL accreditation is granted to individual laboratories after evaluation of their equipment, processes and personnel — it is not a company-wide certification, and HealthVas does not claim to hold it. Three specifics about this package. The two-draw visit is explained before you book, not discovered when the phlebotomist arrives: fasting draw, a normal meal, second draw two hours later, one visit. More than one person in a household can be booked into the same window, which is the practical reason home collection matters when a parent and an adult child are both being screened. And the gap is stated openly: this package contains no urine albumin-creatinine ratio, so anyone already diagnosed with diabetes should ask their doctor about adding one to their annual review. Free home sample collection across Delhi. Digital reports within 24 hours. Book online or on WhatsApp.
