Test: CA125 - Ovarian Cancer marker. Result: A number with a reference range. Price: From 800. Fasting: Not required. Sample: Blood (serum). Reports: Within 12 hours, digital. Home collection: Available across Delhi; any charge is shown at booking. Lab: NABL-accredited. Note: Share a brief clinical history. ## What It Measures CA 125 is a protein made by some cells in the ovaries and other tissues. Its level in blood can rise in ovarian cancer. The test is mainly used to monitor treatment, to detect recurrence, and to help evaluate a pelvic mass found on a scan or examination. ## What It Cannot Do CA 125 is not a reliable screening test for ovarian cancer in healthy women. A normal level does not rule cancer out, and a raised level does not prove it. Levels can rise in endometriosis, fibroids, pelvic infection, menstruation, pregnancy and liver disease. The result is always read with symptoms, examination and imaging. ## Reading a Raised Result A raised result is a reason to talk to your gynaecologist, not a diagnosis. Your doctor may order an ultrasound or other tests, and sometimes a second marker such as HE4. If you are being monitored for known ovarian cancer, the trend over time matters more than one reading. ## Care Often Means Travel Across the City Many Delhi patients are seen at large hospitals far from home, and each blood test can become a day out. For women in treatment or recovery, travel is tiring. A home sample, with no fasting, spares that trip, and a family member can be present at home. The digital report can be forwarded to your oncologist or gynaecologist before the visit. ## What Is Not Included This is one test. It does not include HE4, ultrasound, other tumour markers or hormone tests. Content last reviewed: October 2026
