Dengue is easiest to confirm in the first few days of fever, and the Dengue NS1 Antigen (Rapid) test is the one built for that window. It detects a protein the dengue virus releases into the blood, usually detectable up to about day 5 to 7, before the antibodies other dengue tests need have formed. One blood draw, no fasting, report within 12 hours, processed at a NABL-accredited laboratory in our network. From 600. For someone with a full day in the office, the practical advantage is that nothing needs planning: the sample can be taken at home in the evening or at the desk-side of a weekday afternoon. Home collection is available across Gurgaon, including Sector 56, Sector 49, Golf Course Extension, Sohna Road, DLF Phase 3, Udyog Vihar and South City. Any collection charge is shown before you confirm.

What the Dengue NS1 Rapid Test Tells You

At a Glance

Test: Dengue NS1 Antigen (Rapid). Result: Positive or negative. Price: From 600. Fasting: Not required. Sample: Blood (serum). Reports: Within 12 hours, digital. Home collection: Available across Gurgaon; any charge is shown at booking. Lab: NABL-accredited. ## What NS1 Is, and Why Timing Matters NS1 is a protein made by the dengue virus and released into the blood while the infection is active. It is detectable from the early days of fever and declines as the immune system responds, so this test is most informative in roughly the first five to seven days. Beyond that, antibodies — IgM first, then IgG — carry the diagnostic weight. The most common mistake with dengue testing is taking it too late, not choosing the wrong test. ## Interpreting the Result A positive result indicates current dengue infection and should go to a doctor the same day. A negative result needs care: it does not rule dengue out if the fever is more than a few days old, if the virus level is low, or in a repeat infection, where the test picks up fewer cases than in a first infection. If the fever persists, doctors commonly repeat the test or add dengue IgM and IgG instead of relying on one negative. ## Platelets Are Followed Separately Confirming the virus is only half of managing dengue. Doctors follow the blood count, and a falling Platelet Count is the figure they watch, with serial counts over several days more telling than one. The Complete Blood Count (CBC) + ESR is a separate test that can be booked with this one. Dengue and malaria are endemic across Delhi NCR, and cases usually rise after the monsoon. ## When You Cannot Take a Morning Off Most of Gurgaon's working week happens in offices around DLF Cyber City, Udyog Vihar, Golf Course Road and Sohna Road, and a fever tends to get treated with a tablet and another day at the desk. This test needs no fasting and no preparation, so a phlebotomist can collect the sample at home after work, which keeps the test inside the window in which it is reliable. Do not wait for a convenient Saturday if the fever began on a Monday. ## Warning Signs Go to a hospital without waiting for a report if there is severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, bleeding from the gums or nose, black stools, extreme drowsiness or restlessness, or cold clammy skin as the fever settles. Doctors generally advise against aspirin and ibuprofen when dengue is suspected; ask which fever medicine is safe. ## What Is Not Included This is a single test. It does not include Dengue IgM or IgG, a Platelet Count or full blood count, dengue PCR or serotyping, or any malaria, typhoid or chikungunya test. The Dengue Profile-Rapid Dengue IgG, Dengue IgM, Dengue NS1 Ag covers all three dengue markers in one booking and fits a fever that is already several days old. Results should always be read by a doctor alongside symptoms. Content last reviewed: October 2026

Who Should Get a Dengue NS1 Test?

  • Office workers in Gurgaon's corporate corridors with a fever that is not clearing – A fever managed with a tablet and a day at the desk is the usual way dengue goes unconfirmed for too long. Since the test needs no fasting, an evening home collection keeps it inside the first days of illness when it is most reliable.
  • Anyone in the first five days of a fever – This is the window the test is designed for. NS1 is detectable from the early days, before dengue antibodies appear. After about a week a negative result means much less and doctors usually move to IgM and IgG.
  • People with severe body ache, headache behind the eyes or a rash – These are common in dengue and are why doctors ask for this test early. None of them is specific to dengue, so the result is read alongside symptoms and the blood count.
  • Anyone whose platelet count has begun to fall – A falling platelet count in a person with fever is a reason to confirm or exclude dengue. Add a Platelet Count to follow the trend, because readings across several days matter more than one value.
  • Parents of children who attend school or daycare – Children can deteriorate quickly with dengue, and early confirmation shapes how closely they are monitored. Home collection avoids taking a feverish child through traffic to a lab.
  • Residents of Gurgaon during and after the monsoon – Dengue and malaria are endemic across Delhi NCR, with cases usually rising after the rains. A fever in that season deserves an early test rather than several days of treating it as a routine viral illness.

How to Prepare

Fasting: Not required. Eat and drink normally. Timing: Book as soon as the fever starts rather than waiting for a free weekend. The test is most useful in roughly the first five to seven days. Note the day the fever began and tell your doctor. Sample: One venous blood draw. Nothing else is collected. Medicines: Continue prescribed medicines. Doctors generally advise against aspirin and ibuprofen when dengue is suspected; ask your doctor what is safe. Fitting it around work: a sample can be taken at home in the evening or in a weekday afternoon slot. There is no fasting window to plan around. Home collection: Available across Gurgaon — Sector 14, 29, 38, 42, 44, 46, 49, 54, 55, 56, 57, Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension, Sohna Road, DLF Phase 1 to 5, Udyog Vihar, Manesar, Palam Vihar, South City and Nirvana Country. Any collection charge is shown at booking. Reports: Digital, within 12 hours of collection, with the result marked positive or negative.

What Is Included, and What Is Not

Included One test: Dengue NS1 Antigen (Rapid), a qualitative positive or negative result from a single blood sample, with a digital report within 12 hours. ## Not included Dengue IgM and IgG antibodies, Platelet Count, a Complete Blood Count, dengue PCR or serotyping, and any malaria, typhoid or chikungunya test. These are separate orders. ## Where to go from here For a fever already several days old, or to cover all three markers, the Dengue Profile-Rapid Dengue IgG, Dengue IgM, Dengue NS1 Ag tests NS1, IgM and IgG in one booking. To follow the blood count, add Platelet Count or the Complete Blood Count (CBC) + ESR.

Frequently asked questions

Common questions about Dengue NS1 Antigen (Rapid) in Gurgaon

What does the Dengue NS1 Antigen (Rapid) test detect?

It detects NS1, a protein released by the dengue virus into the blood during active infection. The result is qualitative: positive or negative. NS1 can be found from the early days of fever, usually up to about day 5 to 7.

What is the price of a dengue NS1 test in Gurgaon?

It starts from 600 in Gurgaon. Home sample collection is available across the city and any collection charge is shown in the booking flow before you confirm. Digital reports are included.

Can I book it for an evening or after office hours?

Yes. The test needs no fasting and no preparation, so a phlebotomist can collect the sample at home in the evening or in a weekday afternoon slot. Booking early in the fever matters more than booking at a convenient time.

Is home collection available in Gurgaon?

Yes, across Gurgaon including Sector 56, 49, 54, 57, Golf Course Road, Golf Course Extension, Sohna Road, DLF Phase 1 to 5, Udyog Vihar, Manesar, Palam Vihar and South City. Any collection charge is shown before you confirm.

Can I take the test at my workplace?

The sample is collected at the address you give at booking, which can be your home or your office. Choose a slot when you will be available and a quiet place to sit for the draw.

On which day of fever should I get tested?

As early as possible, ideally in the first five days. NS1 is highest early and falls as the immune system responds. After about a week, dengue IgM and IgG are more useful and a negative NS1 means much less.

Can a negative NS1 rule out dengue?

No. It can be negative when the fever is more than a few days old, when the virus level is low, or in a repeat infection. If symptoms continue, doctors usually repeat it or add dengue IgM and IgG. Do not stop follow-up because of one negative result.

What is the difference between NS1, IgM and IgG?

NS1 is a viral protein that shows current infection in the early days. IgM is the first antibody, appearing a few days in. IgG is the later antibody, which rises in a repeat infection and can remain after recovery. The Dengue Profile-Rapid Dengue IgG, Dengue IgM, Dengue NS1 Ag tests all three together.

Do I need to fast before the test?

No. There is no fasting and no preparation. Noting the day the fever began is more useful than any preparation.

How long do reports take?

Digital reports are issued within 12 hours of sample collection, with the result marked positive or negative.

Should I add a platelet count?

Often, yes. Doctors follow the blood count in dengue, and a falling Platelet Count is the figure they watch. Serial counts over several days tell more than one reading. Platelet Count and the Complete Blood Count (CBC) + ESR can be booked alongside this test.

Which symptoms mean I should go to hospital instead of waiting?

Severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, bleeding from the gums or nose, black stools, extreme drowsiness or restlessness, or cold clammy skin as the fever settles. These can signal severe dengue. This is general information, not medical advice.

Is the lab NABL-accredited?

Yes. Your sample is processed at a NABL-accredited laboratory in our network. NABL accreditation is granted to individual laboratories after evaluation of their equipment, processes and personnel. It is not a company-wide certification, and HealthVas does not claim to hold accreditation itself.
