Package: Advance Fever Package. Tests: 70 parameters, 8 components. Price: From 1199. Fasting: Not required. Sample: Blood and urine, single visit. Reports: 12 hours, digital. Home collection: Free across Noida. Lab: NABL-accredited. Two clocks run on this package. The dengue marker works inside a window measured in days of illness; the report returns inside one measured in hours. Dengue NS1 Antigen (Rapid) is detectable from roughly day 1 to day 7 of fever, and a 12-hour turnaround means a morning sample reports the same evening rather than spending a day of that window waiting. On the Basic Fever Package's base this adds NS1, Typhidot - Serum (IgG - IgM BY ELISA) in place of Widal, and full Kidney Function Test and Liver Function Test profiles — liver because dengue and typhoid disturb transaminases, kidney because poor oral intake moves urea, creatinine and electrolytes. Past day 6 already? See the timing section, then the Comprehensive Fever Package, which adds Dengue IgM and IgG. ## Dengue NS1 Antigen: Why the Day of Fever Decides the Test Dengue NS1 Antigen (Rapid) detects a non-structural protein the virus itself manufactures, so it finds the virus, not your response to it. That is why it works early and stops working later: NS1 is detectable from roughly day 1 to day 7 of fever and fades as antibodies appear. Dengue IgM shows up around day 4 to day 5 and indicates current or recent infection. Dengue IgG suggests past infection, or a secondary infection when it rises alongside IgM. The consequence is concrete: someone presenting on day 6 can be NS1-negative and IgM-positive, and an NS1-only test would have called them negative. This package carries NS1 alone; the Comprehensive Fever Package carries all three. Inside day 1 to day 5 this package suffices; beyond that the three-marker version has a real advantage. A negative NS1 early on does not rule dengue out, and no antigen or antibody result replaces clinical monitoring: falling platelets, a rising haematocrit and warning signs guide treatment. ## Typhidot by ELISA Instead of Widal Typhidot - Serum (IgG - IgM BY ELISA) detects IgM and IgG antibodies specific to Salmonella typhi, turns positive earlier than Widal, and does not react across other Salmonella species. Widal (Slide Agglutination Test), used in the Basic Fever Package, cross-reacts with other Salmonella, stays positive after past infection or vaccination, is frequently falsely positive in endemic areas, and needs paired samples 7 to 10 days apart. Typhidot avoids most of that. One caveat: blood culture remains the reference standard for typhoid, and this package does not include it. If your doctor needs certainty before starting an antibiotic, ask for one, drawn before the first dose, because antibiotics taken beforehand sharply reduce the yield. ## Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination There is one specific way an automated platelet count goes wrong, and it is why this component is here. Platelets clump in the tube, the analyser counts a clump as one cell, and the report calls the count dangerously low when it is not — in a suspected dengue case, a reason to escalate. Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination is a slide prepared and read by a qualified pathologist, who sees the clumping for what it is. It cannot be automated, which is why it is the first item cut to hold a price point. Five findings are reported: Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Platelets, Hemoparasites and a written Impression. Hemoparasites means malarial parasites are looked for inside red cells directly, alongside the antigen assay itself. Where the count shows anaemia, the smear gives the cause — microcytic cells iron deficiency, macrocytic B12 or folate deficiency, sickle-shaped cells sickle cell disease, blast cells possible leukaemia. Over 50% of Indian women aged 15–49 are anaemic (NFHS-5, 2019–21). ## The Other 5 Components CBC with ESR (21): Haemoglobin, platelet count, haematocrit, the white cell differential and ESR — the pattern-reading core of a fever workup. MALARIA ANTIGEN -EIA (1): Enzyme immunoassay for malarial antigen; can stay positive for days after treatment. Liver Function Test (12): Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT, GGT, ALP and proteins; transaminases commonly rise in both dengue and typhoid. Kidney Function Test (12): Urea, creatinine, electrolytes and GFR, reflecting fluid shifts in febrile illness. Complete Urine Analysis (17): Nitrites, leukocytes, pus cells, protein and casts — identifies urinary infection as the fever source, and detects overt proteinuria but not microalbuminuria. ## Fitting the Collection Around a Shift Nothing here requires fasting, so the slot sits wherever your sleep allows — straight off a night shift, or late evening. Give the day of fever at booking: with a time-limited marker like NS1, that is what tells your doctor how much weight a negative carries. ## Limitations No Dengue IgM or IgG, no chikungunya IgM, scrub typhus, leptospira, COVID-19 or influenza test, no blood culture, no Procalcitonin, no CRP, no imaging. Fever with breathlessness, vomiting, bleeding, drowsiness or falling urine output needs urgent in-person assessment, not a repeat test. ## Sources NFHS-5, 2019–21 Content last reviewed: October 2026
