Package: Comprehensive Fever Package. Tests: 72 parameters, 10 components. Price: From 1799. Fasting: Not required. Sample: Blood and urine, single visit. Reports: 24 hours, digital. Home collection: Free across Noida. Lab: NABL-accredited. Having had dengue once changes what a second episode means, and which test can tell you. This is the only HealthVas fever package that separates a current infection from a past one, because it carries three dengue markers instead of one — NS1 antigen, IgM and IgG. That is its single genuine advantage over the Advance Fever Package: the rest of the base is shared — CBC with ESR, a pathologist-read blood smear, malaria antigen, a typhoid antibody test and full Kidney Function, Liver Function and urine profiles. Inside the first four or five days of fever, the Advance Fever Package covers you. Past that, or if you have had dengue before, this is the tier. ## Three Dengue Markers Cover a Wider Window of Illness Dengue testing is a timing problem. Dengue NS1 Antigen (Rapid) detects a protein the virus itself makes and is detectable from roughly day 1 to day 7 of fever — the early febrile phase. Dengue IgM (Rapid) appears around day 4 to day 5, indicating current or recent infection. Dengue IgG (Rapid) suggests past infection, or a secondary infection when it rises with IgM — which matters, because second dengue infections carry higher risk of severe disease. The practical consequence: a patient presenting on day 6 may be NS1-negative and IgM-positive, and an NS1-only test would have returned a negative. That is the reason to choose this tier over the Advance Fever Package. What none of the three can do is predict severity. They establish whether dengue is present; severity is judged on the platelet count, the haematocrit and clinical warning signs. All three are rapid methods, and an ambiguous result may be confirmed with an ELISA-based assay. ## Typhoid and Malaria Testing Typhidot - Titre - Serum (IgG IgM By Card) detects IgM and IgG antibodies to Salmonella typhi and turns positive earlier than the older Widal slide agglutination test used in the Basic Fever Package. Widal cross-reacts with other Salmonella, persists after past infection or vaccination, is frequently falsely positive in endemic areas, and needs paired samples 7 to 10 days apart. On method: the Advance Fever Package runs Typhidot by ELISA, this package the card / titre format. Both detect S. Typhi IgM and IgG on different platforms, and the method is printed on your report. Choose this tier for the dengue coverage, not on the typhoid test. Blood culture remains the reference standard for typhoid, and it is not included here. If your doctor needs certainty before starting an antibiotic, ask for one, drawn before the first dose. MALARIA ANTIGEN -EIA is an enzyme immunoassay for malarial antigen; it can stay positive for days after treatment has cleared the parasites, so timing affects how it reads. ## Blood Picture - Peripheral Smear Examination Platelets are the number everyone watches in dengue, and this component keeps it honest. A qualified pathologist prepares a slide and reads it under a microscope, cell by cell — work no analyser performs, and therefore the line item dropped first when a package is priced down. Five findings are reported: Red Blood Cells, White Blood Cells, Platelets, Hemoparasites and a written Impression. The platelet finding carries most weight: falling platelets are the key monitoring parameter in dengue, and automated counters misread clumped platelets as a dangerously low count, which the pathologist catches before anyone acts on it. Hemoparasites means malarial parasites are looked for inside red cells directly, not inferred. Where the count shows anaemia, the smear names the cause — microcytic cells iron deficiency, macrocytic B12 or folate deficiency, sickle-shaped cells sickle cell disease, blast cells possible leukaemia; over 50% of Indian women aged 15–49 are anaemic (NFHS-5, 2019–21). ## The Other 4 Components CBC with ESR (21): Haemoglobin, platelet count, haematocrit, the white cell differential and ESR — tracked day to day in dengue. Liver Function Test (12): Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT, GGT, ALP and proteins; transaminases rise in both dengue and typhoid. Kidney Function Test (12): Urea, creatinine, electrolytes and GFR, reflecting fluid shifts in prolonged fever. Complete Urine Analysis (17): Nitrites, leukocytes, pus cells, protein and casts — identifies urinary infection, a fever source no blood test finds. It detects overt proteinuria, not microalbuminuria. ## Serial Counts and the Return Visit One collection covers all 10 components, but platelets need a trend rather than a reading, so your doctor may ask for repeat counts over following days. Those are booked separately and a phlebotomist returns to the same address — simpler than a daily trip while febrile, and no fasting applies at any hour. ## Limitations No chikungunya IgM, scrub typhus, leptospira, COVID-19 or influenza test, no blood culture, no Procalcitonin, no CRP, no imaging. Fever with breathlessness, vomiting, bleeding, drowsiness or falling urine output needs urgent assessment in person. ## Sources NFHS-5, 2019–21 Content last reviewed: October 2026
